I had trouble finding any videos on how to fill the cracks in old style paneling. We had a dark wood type of paneling downstairs and I HATE wood paneling….now REAL wood paneling I can deal with but not the fake wood paneling. You find this a lot in older homes. In our case this house had survived a flood in the 80s so the previous owners replaced the downstairs walls with paneling while almost all of the upstairs has plaster. I hope you find this video helpful!

It took us 4-5 days of work. I was there 24/7 from the time we close but my hisband only had the first and third day off. We also had some help from friends. Here is a timeline breakdown: (ea night we were up to anywhere from midnight – 2am and I’d wake up next morning around 7/8am and continue work.)
June 19- closed on house.
4pm-? Sanded walls, started filling with putty, two rms completed.
Total of 4 people working most of time
June. 20 – Sanded down, 2nd coat drywall putty in cracks.
2 people working at a time.
June 21. – moved stuff from storage to garage so didnt work until afternoon/evening.
Painted primer on trim and walls both rooms.
3 people working most of time.
June 22. – Painted trim and 1st coat on walls
1 person most of time, 2 after husband got off work.
June 23rd – 2nd and final coat of paint trim and walls.
2 people working throughout day.
It was a lot of work! But i would do it over again because i loved how it turned out! Way cheaper than tearing out and replacing with drywall, puttying and painting drywall,
