Finished today in Thailand. Enclosure was originally an overhang at side of kitchen. Built a front wall and door then meshed with 19 metres of 92 cm wide (3 ft) mesh. Total cost for this, wood, paint, mesh. latches, hinges, screws etc. @ 1700 Baht ($55). This now serves as a 3X3 metre safe area, cat proof floorspace for the daytime.
The duck house is 102 X 60 X 62 CM, with a sloping roof extended over area (120 X 75 CM). Hardwood floor and two melamine trays built into an area to be anti-spill. Total cost for this @ 3600 Baht ($115).
Takes a while (painting slows you down) but easy DIY and all in for no more than 6000 Baht .
